Position: Controller
Location: Lake Elmo, Minnesota; On-site only
Type: Regular Full Time Salaried Exempt (not eligible for overtime)
Salary Range: $90,000-$140,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Reports to: CFO

The Controller is responsible for preparing and reviewing the financial statements, Call Reports, overseeing accounts payable, fixed assets and maintaining an effective accounting system.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
  • Current CPA license or in process of obtaining CPA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of bank accounting experience.
  • Previous experience on the Jack Henry 20/20 core banking computer system a plus.
  • Previous supervisor and/or leadership experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate solid judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to fully understand the Bank’s operations and information systems.
  • Maintenance of strict confidentiality and tactfulness in dealing with confidential Bank, customer, and employee information.
  • Knowledge and willingness to follow all policies and procedures established by Senior Management and the Board of Directors in addition to adherence to applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Must work effectively with other managers and especially subordinate staff members, in a manner that will encourage dialogue and collegiality in the conduct of the Bank’s business.
  • Easily adapts to change, including new ideas and encourages others to do the same.
  • Strong experience with successful multi-tasking and prioritization of work responsibilities.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by working cooperatively and effectively as a member of the Lake Elmo Bank team.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements for the Bank, holding company and various departments.
  • Prepare Call Report and various other regulatory financial reports.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation.
  • Responsible for investment accounting for bond portfolio.
  • Responsible for accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets accounting.
  • Responsible for regulatory capital calculations.
  • Responsible for assisting the CFO with various special projects.
  • Responsible for working with Operations Team for CDAR’s deposit accounting.
  • Works closely with the CFO on items such as the annual audit report, regulatory examinations, tax returns, interest rate risk analysis, insurance and various other areas as needed.
  • Provides technical advice and interprets data to measure operating efficiency and costs for ALCO and Senior Management.

Lake Elmo Bank has a current Full-Time Teller opening. (on-site only) We are looking for candidates who are friendly, professional, dependable, courteous and outgoing with excellent customer service skills.   Previous banking experience is not required. Customer service and/or cash handling experience is helpful, but not required.   Paid Training will be provided. Work location will be in Lake Elmo, Stillwater or Oakdale depending on business needs. 

Type: Regular Full Time Hourly (eligible for overtime) 8:30 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Monday-Friday.  Position includes a rotating Saturday schedule from 8:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Salary Range:  $17.00-$24.71/hour

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Customer Service Experience.

  • Processing assigned customer transactions in a timely, accurate manner, consistently follows established procedures, and helping to maintain a positive, favorable image of the Bank as a responsible business operation.  
  • Provide internal and external customers personal service by striving to meet their needs in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by working cooperatively and effectively as a member of the Lake Elmo Bank team.

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
