Lake Elmo Bank Trust & Estate Services recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. While Lake Elmo Bank is over 114 years old, we began offering trust services 25 years ago. Our trust department plays an important role in Lake Elmo Bank's long-range strategic plan: providing personal service second to none for our customers.
Twenty-five years ago, Don Raleigh saw the need in our community for a trust department that could serve as a professional fiduciary to assist families and small business through estate settlement and the administration of trusts. He specifically recognized that we have many customers with their own businesses who have important needs that could be served by a high-quality trust department.
Trust departments capable of serving these needs have disappeared over the years. Such trust departments require a professional staff with specialized expertise, which can be too expensive to maintain for many banks. As a result, Lake Elmo bank's trust department is a rare service – but one that is extremely important for our community and our good long-term relationship customers.
Our trust department is unique in its ability to manage trust-owned closely-help businesses, real estate, and other complex assets. Serving in this way provides a rare opportunity to meet important needs of the families and businesses who are our long-term customers.
We recognize with appreciation Don Raleigh's vision and unwavering commitment to Lake Elmo Bank's customers and community. As our trust department continues to grow, we will carry this legacy forward.
